Established in 1997, Midtown Comics is a New York City-based comic book retailer that provides a wide selection of comic books, graphic novels, manga, and collectibles. Well-known in the comic book community, the company has a reputation for hosting events and signings with notable creators.
Despite the brand's commendable history, it was in need of a fresh look. Midtown Comics has undergone a revitalization to achieve a more modern appearance.

The Identity
The rebranding of Midtown Comics takes inspirations from the original, using notable elements such as the vibrant yellow color and the unmistakable city skyline. To pay homage to the legendary figures of the comic book world an emblematic silhouette of a caped hero was added.
The mobile app and website both underwent a transformation for a more polished yet striking appearance. The design is bold, akin to a comic book "POW!", balancing both professionalism and the spirit of the comic universe.
The Experience
This rebrand aims to not only keep the charm of the original but also to invite customers to explore with a fresh, engaging appeal.
To promote Midtown's new look, all location's signages will be stripped, painted black and any imagery of heroes will be replaced with villains.
QR codes by entrances can be scanned to download the app to join the League. Then, by using an in app AR experience, users can then see the new logo, find clues, and help others keep Midtown safe.
